Girl power goes a long way for me in a book, so this was a nice touch. The only time their interractions become intersting if sexy time was apart of which one of those scenes remind me so much of the Court of NightMares scene in A Court of Mist of Fury if you heard about that book. The previous king and queen were murdered, and it seems someone is out to finish the job. Yeah, uncomfortable is putting it mildly. There is not a whole lot of substance to the novel, but I did enjoy the fluff and found it pretty entertaining, almost despite itself. It refers to this throughout the book.
I really loved this book. Our teen pregnancy rate is high for a reason. Even though I had a feeling how everything would end, some things in Alessandra's past come back to haunt her. Alessandra learns why Kallias can't allow himself to be touched, physically. But if he touches someone, he can't bring his shadows back around that person. How it failed to reach my low expectations is honestly amazing.
