This afternoon and evening of Jazz is a thoroughly enjoyable experience – a chance to chill out with friends and family under the stars, listening to some great music and having a drink or two. See the Knights in face to face battle and experience what it might have been like to live in the times by checking out the living history encampments. When we first heard about the 'Old Gaffers' we thought it was a meeting of elderly out it is an annual festival held in the harbour town of Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight to celebrate old boats with a 'gaff' rig - that's where the main sail has four sides rather than the triangles you see on most modem boats.

Fill Yarmouth Harbour - rallying, racing, food, laughter, elegant yachts galore! Since the reign of King Charles 1, yachts and the majority of fishing boats favoured the gaff rig, so called because the spar is positioned above the main sail, at the top or gaff, hence gaffers. This first class two day event, sees the grand house come to life with music, traditional side-shows, stalls, traditional toy making, Father Christmas and even a visit from Queen Victoria herself!
