She graduated Cherryvale High School in 1951, and then Coffeyville Community Junior College and Pittsburg State Teacher;s College obtaining her graduate degree with honors from the University of Colorado. He cherished spending tie with his family. He married Sandra S. Pugh in 1960, and they later divorced. She was a wonderful wife, mother, partner and friend. I had the opportunity to meet Rachel on several occasions when visiting my family. He is also survived by a son, James D. Barnett, Coffeyville; a daughter, Jeana D. Barnett, Caney; five brothers, Dallas Barnett, Dewey, Okla., A. E. "Heavy" Barnett, Copan, Okla. ; Atwood "John" Barnett, Talala, Okla., Francis LeRoy Barnett, Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Dewayne "Barney" Barnett, Sedan; three sisters, Louie Victoria White, Moore Prairie, Sedan, Clara McMillen, Newton, and Georgia Garner, Mead, Okla. ; and two grandchildren. He married Sarah Augustine Moore on Jan. 10, 1941, in Sedan. We were in the youth group at Beech St First Baptist Church together as well as activities at Arkansas High and shared many laughs. She was a member of the Cherryvale St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Altar Society, the Cherryvale Civic Club, Business Professional Women and the Montgomery County Democratic Party.
