The Nacirema Society Requests the Honor of Your Presence at a Celebration of Their First One Hundred Years — whew — is a dull period comedy that deals with secrets and lies in a well-to-do family at the top of the black elite of Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965. And finally, director Heather Hooper announces the presentation of "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller at Shreveport Little Theatre for its Lagniappe Series. THE NACIREMA SOCIETY is set in 1964 Montgomery, Alabama. On top of all this confusion, there's a reporter from the New York Times (Angel Henson Smith) who's come to document the gala, and who previously wrote a scathing article that had mocked the ladies of the South, i. e. Grace, as terribly outmoded. There is a terrific script called ECLIPSED, by Danai Gurira, but it is only 5 women. As the daughter of the former Dunbar maid who crashes the party, Jackson is a hoot.
