If you want to grow more like Jesus, then you've got to be rooted in Scripture. The inspired Word of God helps us to know the victories and defeats, strengths and weaknesses of its characters. Spend as little as 20 minutes a day and read the Bible in a year, or extend the plan and read the Bible in the time that works best for you. We recommend using a simple journal that's easy to use. Don't just skim over the Old Testament reference; instead, read the text in its original context—and you'll learn about the Old Testament, too. Spacing out our readings of Jesus with other New Testament books that focus on the explanation of gospel-transformed living keeps the Gospel at the center of our focus throughout the year. This Bible Reading plan is designed to be done in community, not alone.
We Are Church Reading Plan For 2021
This plan alternates between Old and New Testament books, with a reading scheduled for each day for three years. The ESV Study Bible is an excellent resource to help you as you study the Bible. Are you committing to begin reading through the Old Testament with us in 2023? This plan provides two readings for each day and takes you through the entire Bible in one year. A Bible engagement strategy can help you connect the dots from Sunday to the other six days of the week. Jesus' miraculous birth was a fulfillment of prophecy and a reminder that God loved us enough to come to us so we could have a relationship with Him. When we receive Christ and our relationship with Him begins, the Holy Spirit comes to be our counselor and teacher. Sometimes, just seeing the direction, distance, etc., between events in the Bible can help you picture them and remember them. We want to fall in love with the Bible and experience God's will for our lives, both personally and in the context of our world. We have also provided the titles of the corresponding Bible Project short animated films along the way. This year we're kicking off a Community Bible Reading Plan to grow together in meaningfully connecting with God through His Word. This schedule provides daily Bible readings for five days each week with a two day "weekend" to catch up or revisit some portions of scripture from the week that really spoke to your heart.
