The found family aspect is always great for me. The two are instantly drawn to one another and explore the city together as the threat of death looms over them both—Valentino has received the call, while Orion is living with a heart condition that could end his life at any moment. The story reminded me in many ways of One Republic's I Lived. I think people who enjoyed they both die at the end will also be liking this.

And side note but we get 1 Mateo and Rufus pov in this one and i fully trained my brain into believing that they're still breathing alive and well 🤧🤧🤧. In Silvera's version of New York, there is an organization that knows the date of every single person's death and gives them a phone call in the early hours of that day to let them know. Why is there that hope, if we know what's going to happen in the end? Silvera has done a remarkable thing by allowing the reader to see the effect that two people's actions can have on those who they come into contact with, no matter how brief those encounters are.
