I thought Ito did a wonderful job of both adaptations, EXCEPT that I found the pacing very odd. Some fans point out that the other two titles are not without their own flaws. Many readers seem to feel that the editors of Weekly Shounen Jump encourage the mangaka to draw out their storylines unnecessarily. Anyway, books would continue to come out, including a re-release of Volumes 1 to 3 as an omnibus in early 2008 (something that TokyoPop did with a few manhwa, likely in an attempt to revitalize sales), but after Volume 22's release in early 2009 things came to a halt. Even repentance and salvation are mood-dependent and can't be sustained. There is a wide range of experience here, even if the emotions verge on the animalistic. This is not a work for children, and perhaps young adults will also have to struggle to detach themselves from the surface level lust, grit and angst of the graphic novel.
