Who rarely stop imagining a better life, one in which they might be called Trish and ride on a bright yellow banana boat and give free rein to their dormant libidos. At one point we had to shut down production for an hour or two because there was a thunderstorm, and Kristen was like, "What's everyone's favorite candy? " Audience: teens, date night. Mumolo and Wiig prove masters of blending silliness with randomly raunchy jokes and the sublimely absurd to create a movie that is a non-stop laugh riot. Plot: tiger, friendship, animals, friends, wild animal, travel, adventure, help, humour. It seemed like that was the way it was going for a while, especially after their one wild night. Place: caribbean, san francisco. Let's look back on the horny times had this year. At the core of Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar is a friendship radiant, resilient, and unapologetically joyful. THINGS I LIKED: Kristen Wiig is so talented and plays two different characters in the movie. I've never heard that. Rarely does a script translate in that kind of way. What will happen to Barb and Star? Damon Wayans, Jr. as Darlie Bunkle. He was simply waiting for the writer-actor-comedians Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo – who most famously collaborated on the script of Bridesmaids a decade ago – to come up with the right part. A movie like this needs its pace to be on point. Or something like "Love at First Bite, " it's also a throwback to 1960s James Bond movies, before the franchise started to take itself so seriously, or the Elvis movies, where Elvis is dropped into some "exotic" location to have adventures and romances, sings songs, and get involved in local and/or international intrigue. A Fabulous, Frumpy MisadventureLoved every gosh darn minute of this fuckin movie. I mean, it's just nuts. They're the kind of friends who might jack it all in for their dream holiday and find themselves fighting a sinister baddie (also played by Wiig) intent on wiping out a beach resort with a swarm of genetically modified mosquitoes.

If the plot doesn't quite make sense, that's because it is deeply stupid – and it knows it. There are cameos by Reba McEntire and Andy Garcia and a crab puppet that sounds like Morgan Freeman. This movie is a fun watch-together pick for adult girlfriends; it's a safe bet that most men and teens aren't likely to appreciate it for all of its girly, goofy glory.
Given the unexpected opportunity for a Florida vacation, they head for the title destination recommended by a friend (someone whose sole scene in the movie will be cherished by BRIDESMAIDS enthusiasts). As ever, your mileage may vary regarding this guy, but I can't say as I'm a fan. None of it has any real-world "relevance" and nobody cares because it's not that kind of movie.
