The hike from the Bowman Lake Campground (Head) to Brown Pass is one of the premiere hikes in Glacier National Park. But if you keep going on the main trail so that you can look back... you can see this small waterfall/water spurt from whence the site gets its name. The national park is quite large (over 1 million acres) and there are a lot of places to see and explore. The campground is located near the base of those mountains far in the distance. If we had gone straight onto Brown Pass, we would not have been lucky enough to see it. After exploring around Bowman lake for a while, we left my car and headed up to Kintla… the next time I'd see my beautiful Ruby Sue would be once we made it all the way through our trip!

Here there is an amazing bakery and store as well as a small hostel and a saloon (definitely stop in at the store for their huckleberry bearclaws). We made it to the head of Bowman Lake in no time, and executed our well practiced routine of tying up our bear bags and setting up camp.
