Once that cam is out, you can leave the key in the ignition and when you open the door you won't get the annoying ding. It seems that when my car was in for it's service, the garage set the dial for my lights to be on.

Having one would be a big help to me and mine currently doesn't seem to have one. Shouldn't make that noise if on auto. I have aftermarket headunit. 2020 Ford Edge Titanium. Well yea, sure I get it if I open the door. This is strange, on my 2004, the accessory setting on the key switch allows my radio to play without the chime and only powers what is turned on. The way i fixed it is that i was in a hurry to leave my car one day and i pulled the key out really fast and it pulled that piece back out.

I didn't take any pictures, because I wasn't entirely sure it was going to work, but through some messing around I found that any object pressed into the ignition with the door open will cause the chime to start, so there must be a switch inside the cylinder. It took me maybe 35 minutes to figure out. Unplug the door latches or take the cover off the steering column. That sounds like a door sensor issue. In the meantime, do y'all have any ideas? Now with the key out and door open the chimes won't quit. 0 V6 Vulcan; 4x4 Automatic. I know I wish I could keep my doors open working around my truck cuz it's sounds so much better.
