I am a little confused about this movie. I really hope I can accurately describe what I mean, because it's more a feeling than anything else, so here I go. Malkovich denies ever playing a jewel thief; but, after thinking the matter over, the cabbie says confidently, "No, I'm pretty sure it was you. " In 1997 he accepted to direct the movie. That's pretty heavy praise considering that was one of the great movie years of the past few decades.
