I loved the book so much that I immediately treated myself to the paperback. Book 2 Things We Hide From the Light is due to be released early next year and I can't wait to return back to Knockemount. Published by That's What She Said Publishing on January 13, 2022. I don't think I have enough words to describe just how much I loved Things We Never Got Over. I was totally invested in their relationship and enjoyed how they got to know one another, were both hopeful for a brighter future, and dealt with Tina's betrayal. Spoiler alert ** I am writing this review with a heavy heart, because as fiercely as I loved the author's other work, especially the Benevolence series, Bootleg Springs series, By a Thread, the Christmas Fix, the Worst Best Man, Rock Bottom Girl, etc., I felt the complete opposite after reading Things We Never Got Over. I literally have nothing negative to say about this book. Of course, Knox was my favorite character, but I don't think anyone can blame me for that. Knox doesn't deal with difficulties or high-maintenance women, especially not romantic ones, for a reason.

Lucy Score always gives me the feel-good and adorably witty sincere romance butterflies. This book is written from both Naomi and Knox's points of view, which I loved. A bad situation changes everything for Naomi and deservedly for the better. Things We Never Got Over is a story about two people who are as different as they are similar.
Starting out the book, I found myself stealing glimpses for the swoon-worthy parts. All the building tension and heat had me on the edge of my seat for Naomi and Knox to get together. He said, "I'm not working with some uppity, needy pain in the a$$. I felt all the feels. You can read more on my disclosures page. "There's a difference between taking care of someone because you love them and taking care of someone because you want them to love you. " He was a tortured, brooding mess with a heart of gold. I instantly fell in love with Waylay and her sassy and smart self, I felt for her and all she'd gone through and adored watching her grow over the course of the story. But will their love last? Everyone instantly loves Naomi, the good twin and people pleaser. It wasn't an argument over money, as Knox did offer him a generous share, it was how Knox reacted when Nash refused.
