We had to wait until 60% of the way through for them to be reunited, which was way too long. At the same time, Malik staying in Isbeth's grasp for Millie has to be a huge sacrifice, and to do it for decades and decades is incredibly hard. The same goes for Vonetta and Delano and so many others that I've really enjoyed seeing. The fact that Nektas revealed that Sera eventually becomes the most powerful being of all is a huge spoiler for the Flesh and Fire series (to me, and I didn't appreciated it). I don't even know what happened. Worth every word S2. I feel like I'm missing out on some backstories because I simply can't keep track of it all in my head.

For the last year, I was in a chokehold by these books and this love story. A great empire falling to a monster's claim. But that's because she is now a queen and has the kingdom's fate on her shoulders. As Poppy fights for the ones she loves, she's also learning more about herself – discovering the powers that she holds and embracing what she is becoming, while trying to avoid her prophesised destiny that she will destroy all that she is trying to build. It was a well written book, I've looked forward to reading it for a long time. I am completely hooked on this series. Of course chapter 44 is the big one that we are all waiting for. JLA created her story line, how she saw it fit.
