Steve was very helpful, giving us the lay of the land. This marina is a darling, peaceful, within walking distance to delicious restaurants and Croton Park. Very shallow unmarked approach to the marina. This will definitely be our stopover point on the Hudson in the future. Conveniently located on the east shore of the Hudson River only 25 miles north of New York City and about 12 miles south of Bear Mountain and West Point, Half Moon Bay Marina is the ideal home port for varied boating trips. My new boat home 👍🏼. We also were able to take the Metro North train (easy 1 mile walk) to visit NYC. In short we were making plans to come back before we left the slip. Best marina on the Hudson River. No facilities close by. Saved our boat during Hurricane Isaias. This is an excellent marina with great views, direct access to walking paths and parks on either side of this award winning marina. Do it yourself laundry is a super close by place too, and quite convenient... Steve provides you w a google doc that is so informative with maps, directions, endless local places to check out… Nice men's and women's restrooms. Great place to stop when traveling the Hudson River. We didn't notice any movement on our boat despite a fairly strong northwest wind.

From here you can take the Express METRO NORTH Train directly to Grand Central Station or directly to Yankee Stadium or all points north or south! I was skeptical about this but his local knowledge was spot on and we had no issues. One real benefit of this marina is the proximity to a good grocery store as well as the MetroNorth station for trips into New York City. The marina is quiet except for the geese that our dog ran off. Dockmaster Steve was very helpful. Steve was able to help us secure a rental car during our stay. Five Stars for Half Moon and for dockmaster Steve who does everything he can to make our stay easy and pleasant. Nights are always calm and peaceful.
The staff and mgmt has the ultimate in integrity and the mechanics there daily are all very inexpensive and knowledgeable. We took the train to Poughkeepsie from here to visit the Culinary Institute of America - a can't miss stop as well!! Imposible to step on. Check out the Ocean House for seafood and the Piato Greek restaurant. Short quarter mile walk to restaurants and and beautiful walkways to the swimming beach adjacent to the marina. We were given a slip assignment that would have been extremely difficult without dockside assistance. We spent two nights at Half Moon Bay. My favorite amenity so far is we had our laundry picked up at boat, cost $1/lb. Steve Plotkin, the marina dock master, was SUPER HELPFUL in putting us in touch with a mechanic read to work on the generator Sunday morning; Steve also offered us and directed us to a perfect transient slip ($2. Our centralized location in Croton-on-Hudson, New York offers very easy access to West Point Military Academy, the Culinary Institute, Sleepy Hollow Cemetary, FDR Estate, Rockefeller Estate, Cold Spring, and especially New York City. Slips, docs, and facilities are well-maintained. Great location with hiking trails, beautiful views and food / shops nearby.

We were given a 2nd password to try, and were told to try the unlocked wifi at the neighboring condo complex. As always, the marina manager was helpful both in communicating before my arrival and in handling lines as we docked. We really enjoyed our stay here. This is a great place to spend the night or the season. All of these criteria have become next to impossible to find on the Hudson. Steve was super attentive and had a great communication. Hands down the only marina with deep water, and a management team that you can trust implicitly. He picked us up and took us back to the marina. Steve was there to catch our lines! The next day, we were offered a promise that it had been fixed. Would stay there again!!!
Coming up the Hudson, we were looking for a anchorage or marina that would allow us a close connection with the Trains to NY. We ended up paying for the season and it was a great decision. Wide and stable docks with full length finger piers. With the ever increasing demand on slips this year, due to four large, local marinas closing, we decided to purchase another slip to solely use as a rental property. Steve was wonderful helping us. All went well with my experience this year, but the pump out location can be challenging. To be honest, this was one of the best marinas we have been to.
Well protected, comfortable floating docks. Great area for dog walking and Steve's recommendation to visit the Croton Dam was awesome. Emmitt didn't even work there, yet he rushed to help us tie up. Steve was great and helpful.
