Liked The Next Mrs Russo? I loved following Emily and Julian on their journey from hasty marriage to happy ever after. I wasn't interested in the pairing when they were first introduced in To Love and To Loathe (note: I didn't particularly enjoy that book either) and they proved to be so mind-numbingly boring here. To Marry and to Meddle is a solid romance read. Six seasons in, and debutante Emily Turner is no closer to securing a marriage proposal. That made this felt a bit flat and it was a shame. However, it did lend it a lack of tension, towards the end. Emily was a lovely character. I especially loved how Cecil the kitten mauled Julian with perfected timing and the nickname Julian bestows on him. I love a good slow burn and what I love even more is a book that explores post-marriage dynamics. To whom it may concern, I am down to read those! Fusty, dusty, and tiring. 'SUPERBLY ENTERTAINING' BOOKLIST. I'm used to books that have a heavier hand when it comes to smexy times, but this was written in such a way that I never missed the intense steam I'm accustomed to.

I found the writing style of Waters, who I had never read, to be instantly engaging. Her sense of humour was so on point and I adored how often she would catch Julian off guard and pop him back on his heels as to any preconceived notions he has – not that he is in anyway bad, but y'know how it is.
